Ooks Keep Season Alive

On Friday evening, a playoff game between the NAIT Ooks and Concordia Thunder took place in the NAIT Gymnasium. The winner of the game plays against Keyano Huskies Sunday at Keyano College, whereas the loser's season ends. The Ooks won the game 80-60.

Both teams had a solid start to the game. The Ooks scored the first points of the game. The Thunder weren't far behind, though, and could always stay within reach of the Ooks lead. At the end of the first quarter, the Ooks lead 23-18.

The second quarter was exciting for the Ooks and Thunder as the crowd's energy became infectious. Both teams put on defensive pressure for the full court, causing the opposing team to make more mistakes. There were more personal fouls for each team, especially the Ooks, as the Thunder could be in bonus for a couple of minutes. At the end of the half, the Ooks continued their lead on the scoreboard over the Thunder, 39-33.

After the halftime break, both teams played a face-paced third quarter. The game intensity continued to increase between the Thunder and the Ooks. The physicality of the game continued for both the Ooks and Thunder. At the end of the third quarter, the Ooks maintained their lead over the Thunder, 55-49.

In the fourth court, the battle between these two teams continued as they fought to keep their season alive still. The Thunder worked tirelessly to hold the Ooks' offense and outscore them. The Ooks, however, were able to continue to hold their lead over the Thunder until the final buzzer went. The game finished with the Ooks winning 80-60.

The players of the game were #8, Aliyah Johnson from the Ooks, and #12, Madison Murdoch from the Thunder.
