The SAIT Trojans headed down to Medicine Hat to take on the Rattlers for their first game back in the snake pit. The game opened with the Trojans scoring a quick bucket to take the early lead. The visitors scored again and extended their lead through the early minutes. Slowly the Rattlers started to chip away at the lead and were able to bring the game back within reach. This led into the break with SAIT holding a small lead.
As the second quarter started the Trojans began to once again pull away. Missing far too many shots the Rattlers were not able to keep up on the board. By the end of the quarter they led 30-17.
The second half was similar to the first quarter, the Rattlers keeping the quarter close, but trailing by double digits the whole way through the game. Never able to close the gap or gain any significant momentum, they faced an uphill battle and ultimatley succumed. Medicine Hat lost their home opener 57-43
