Lightning Show No Mercy and Overtake the Broncos to Improve their Record to 10-1

Lightning ladies came out firing in the first quarter going 12-0 in the first few minutes of play. With the first quarter ending the STMU Lightning led the Broncos by 14 points. The second quarter defence and team play helped the Lighting hold their lead going into the half 42-19. The Broncos came out firing in the third quarter and beat the Lightning by 2 points. An impressive fourth quarter from the Broncos led by leading scorer Makayla Rose brought the Broncos within 6 points of Lightning. Leading scorers Maitlynn Wilde, Jazmyn Kellog and Andria Stitt held their ground and finished the game strong overtaking the Broncos 68 to 56. Players of the game were #13 Makayla Rose with 19 points, 10 rebounds and 2 steals. While STMU Lightning Maitlynn Wilde produced an impressive double double with 20 points, 11 rebounds and 2 steals. The Lightning are set to take on the Lethbridge Kodiaks next Friday in Lethbridge at 6pm and improve their record with 10 wins and 1 loss.
