February 4, 2023- The Kodiaks and Rattlers faced off in round 2 of their Highway 3 rivalry as the Rattlers continued their search for their first win of the season and the Kodiaks looked for the weekend sweep.

Kodiaks found their footing early into the first period, Rattlers did their best to play defense but it was no match to stop the Kodiaks. Rattlers found their grove after calling a timeout, restructuring their game plan to build some momentum. Although the Kodiaks were able to maintain their lead heading into the second quarter. Kodiaks Kitawna Sparks gained 5 points for the Kodiaks in the first quarter ending with a score of 19-11 for the Kodiaks.

Rattlers continued to try and find their footing in the second quarter however Kodiaks managed to open the gap up further. Rattlers Hailey Hoffart fought hard through the second quarter earning 4 points. This was no match for the Kodiaks as stood their home ground. The quarter ended with a score of 39-22 for the Kodiaks as they entered the third quarter.

The Rattlers struggled to find their ground in the third quarter as the Kodiaks played defense. The Kodiaks continued their plays earning them more points and creating more of a gap from the Rattlers. Kodiaks Milton Jacobs scored 6 points for the Kodiaks throughout the quarter. The third quarter concluded with a score of 59-22 for the Kodiaks heading into the fourth and final quarter of the game.

The Rattlers started to find their footing in the fourth quarter earning 10 points within the first few minutes. Despite the Rattlers efforts to make a comeback, the Kodiaks were able to keep the lead. Kodiaks Emily Hall was a big part of the teams success throughout the game as she picked up 4 points to help push them past the finish line to take the weekend series 2-0 after closing out with a 74-40 victory.
