2023 ACAC Women's Basketball Players of the Year

North Player of the Year presented by Vereburn Medical Supply: Kaelyn Bryks
The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Kaelyn Bryks of the Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder has been selected as the 2022-23 ACAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Year.
In her 5th season, Bryks was a key contributor of the Thunder women’s basketball team this season. She guided the Thunder on and off the court, securing the 12-4 record, first place in the ACAC North Division, and a first round bye into the ACAC Championships. Bryks averaged 13.7 PPG on 41% shooting as she led a Thunder team that finished top five in the ACAC in points per game and field goal percentage, top three in rebounds per game, and first in points allowed per game.
“Kaelyn is a leader on and off the court. She leads by example, is a mentor to her teammates, and always puts the needs of her team ahead of her own” commented Director of Athletics & Recreation Nate MacLellan. “Her work ethic is unmatched, which allows her to succeed both in athletics and academics. Kaelyn has been an important of this program since she got here, and it’s great to see her rewarded for her hard work and dedication. She is the epitome of a Thunder student-athlete; an outstanding athlete, a very strong student, and someone who continually gives back to the community. I want to congratulate Kaelyn on this incredible honour and a successful Thunder career.”
Bryks calls Sturgeon County, Alberta home and is in the 5th and final year of her Bachelor of Education degree.

South Player of the Year presented by Vereburn Medical Supply: Andria Stitt
The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Andria Stitt of the St. Mary’s University Lightning has been selected as the 2022-23 ACAC Female Basketball South Player of the Year.
Andria Stitt has been the Lightning's floor general and energy centre all year - storming opponents with her with passion, intensity, and focus. She was a statistical storm in 2022-2023: Fourth in ACAC in scoring at 16.5 per game, second in total points at 364, second in the ACAC, third in CCAA in assists at 4.5 per game, second in the ACAC and sixth in the country in steals, while also grabbing 6.2 rebounds per game.
Lightning coach Steve Shoults, a man of few word tells us Andria's “a tenacious, hard-working, and humble student-athlete”.

Andria is a third year guard from Birmingham Alabama enrolled in the Bachelor of Science Biology program at St. Mary’s University.
