Woman's Basketball TKU Eagles v. STMU Lightning

On November 30, the King's University Eagles Women's Basketball team took on St. Mary's University Lightning at The King's University gymnasium at 6:00 pm. 

 

In the first quarter,  the game began with the Lightning showcasing exceptional defense and strong rebounding, keeping the Eagles on their toes. Jazmyn Kellogg led the charge for the Lightning with two impressive layups, a hook shot, and a three-pointer. Maitlynn Miller added two smooth shots, while Ivet Hindalgo contributed with a three-pointer, along with fantastic ball-handling, layups, and precise passes. Oge Ejim also made a notable impact, recording a strong block. For the Eagles, Jordanna Rivet was on fire from beyond the arc, hitting two sharp three-pointers. Alyssa Yorke displayed her defensive prowess with a key block, followed by a great assist to Aneilia Ayotte, who scored four fantastic layups. Megan Aleman also made her presence felt with a crucial block. The quarter ended with the Lightning holding a slight advantage thanks to their solid defensive play and offensive contributions.

 

In the second quarter, Lightning continued to play tough defense and showcased great teamwork with crisp passing. Adeit Deng scored a vital basket, and Ivet Hindalgo made another smart layup. Maitlynn Miller nailed a crucial three-pointer to keep the momentum going. The Eagles, however, came alive as Ella Majeau sank two impressive three-pointers. Megan Aleman followed with a beautiful layup and a key rebound shot. Aneilia Ayotte contributed with a strong shot and drive to the basket, while Kayla Soetart made a fantastic drive and layup. Alyssa Yorke rounded out the Eagles' offense with a well-timed shot. The Eagles' strong offensive push helped them close the gap, but the game remained tightly contested.

 

In the third quarter, Lightning's defense remained stifling, and their offense continued to flow. Jazmyn Kellogg made another electrifying layup, followed by a steal and a three-pointer. Adeit Deng was sharp from long-range, hitting a key three-pointer. Maitlynn Miller showcased her versatility with a great block, a strong drive, and a smooth layup. Eva Nickerson contributed with a solid shot, and Ivet Hindalgo nailed another three-pointer to keep the Lightning in the game. For the Eagles, Jordanna Rivet responded with a key block and an aggressive drive to the basket for a layup. Alyssa Yorke added another shot, while Jamie Bunting made a strong drive and layup. Aneilia Ayotte made her presence known with a solid block. With both teams firing on all cylinders, the game remained a nail-biter heading into the final quarter.

 

In the fourth and final quarter, the game reached its peak intensity as both teams played stellar defense. The Eagles' offense was led by Aneilia Ayotte, who had a fantastic drive, layup, and several key shots. Megan Aleman added a big drive, a three-pointer, and a layup, contributing to the Eagles' final push. Alyssa Yorke also hit a crucial shot. A great pass from Jordanna Rivet to Ayotte and then to Jamie Bunting allowed Bunting to score with a smooth shot. On the Lightning's side, Adeit Deng made a pivotal block, while Jazmyn Kellogg drove to the basket for a strong layup. Ivet Hindalgo kept fighting with a solid layup of her own.
