Kaitlyn Slator Honoured as 2018-19 ACAC Women’s Hockey Rookie of the Year
EDMONTON, AB (March 8, 2019) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Kaitlyn Slator of the NAIT Ooks has been selected as the 2018-19 ACAC Women's Hockey Rookie of the Year.
Kaitlyn Slator backstopped the NAIT Ooks to a first-place finish in the regular season standings with a 19-2-3 record where she played every game. Slator sits second in the league in both GAA (1.62) and SV% (.933), Slator also set a new ACAC record this year for most saves in a season (570).
Slator is one of the calmest people and goalies that I've seen at the college level. I feel her calm demeanor carries over to the rest of the team in a positive way. It's hard to believe that with the way she has played that she is only a first-year," said NAIT head coach, Stef Thomson
Kaitlyn is a first-year Personal Fitness Trainor student from Brandon, Manitoba.
This prestigious award was presented to Kaitlyn Slator at the first game of the 2019 ACAC Women's Hockey Championship Ceremony held on March 8 at NAIT.
