NAIT Ooks Defeat The SAIT Trojans
The NAIT Ooks took on the SAIT Trojans at home on Saturday night. Both teams battled it out on Friday night at SAIT. The NAIT Ooks came out ahead, winning 4-3. Tonight was the same story as the Ooks defeated the SAIT Trojans 4-3.
In the first period, both teams came out strong. The Ooks scored on the powerplay at 15:09 by Bre Martin to put themselves ahead by one. The shots after the first period were 9-7 in favour of the Ooks.

The battle continued in the second period. Both teams were close, creating a robust back and forth momentum. Four minutes into the second period, SAIT Trojans forward Tamryn Ward got the puck in tight and hit it home to put her team on the board. The game was tied at one.
The NAIT Ooks came back with a great tip in front of the net by Brittany Savard, but Trojans goalie Becca Boswell was there to close the door. After a rush down to the other end by the SAIT Trojans, the NAIT Ooks got the puck back, and Charlize Sallis scored top shelf to put the Ooks ahead 2-1.
NAIT goalie Havana Batke stopped a great wrap-around attempt by Trojans Elisa Erhardt. After great chances for both teams, the NAIT Ooks were able to capitalize on an opportunity. Jordan McMillan scored to put the Ooks ahead 3-1 halfway through the second period. The Ooks weren't done there, though; Treasure Posch put one into the back of the net late in the period.

The SAIT Trojans came out strong in the third with another goal by Ward. The Trojan's luck didn't last long, though, as the refs called a penalty shot on the ice for the NAIT Ooks. Michaella Kibblewhite took the shot but came up short thanks to a big save from Boswell. It was still 4-2 halfway through the third.
SAIT kept pushing and finally broke through the NAIT Ooks defensemen. Pyper Alexander scored late in the third to cut the Ooks lead to one. The NAIT Ooks kept their foot on the gas, and Boswell came up with some big saves to keep the game within one.
The NAIT Ooks took a late penalty; the SAIT Trojans pulled their goalie to create a six-on-four opportunity for the last minute of the game.
Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to help bring the team to victory. Both teams are back in action next weekend.
