Ooks Steal The Show in Last Home Game

Friday was the first game of March and the final home game for the NAIT Ooks as they hosted the SAIT Trojans. The two teams played well and fought hard, but NAIT came out with the victory winning 6-2 over the Trojans.

The scoring started early in this one, with NAIT getting the game's first goal less than four minutes in from Taylor Premak. They then extended their lead to two with less than halfway through the period with a goal from Michaella Kibblewhite. SAIT didn't roll over, though, as they had an answer before the end of the period with Pyper Alexander cutting the lead in half and getting the momentum for the Trojans going into the second.

2-1 NAIT after one.

The first half of the second was a tight-checking affair with both goalies standing tall. NAIT eventually found a way through, scoring two goals in the second round four minutes apart. Those came from Hanna Pacquette and Jessica Englebrecht.

4-1 NAIT after two.

NAIT opened the scoring in the third again with a goal from Hanna Paquette, her second of the game. SAIT responded later with Elissa Erhardt forcing the turnover and converting on the breakaway. With just over four minutes left in the third, Cassidy Shandro added a late insurance goal to put the Ooks up four.

6-2 NAIT final.

SAIT looks to end the season on a high note in their final game tomorrow, while NAIT looks to use that game to get ready for round one.
