Ooks Fall Short to Broncos in Semi Finals Game One

Thursday night was the first game of the best of three semi-finals between the NAIT Ooks and the Olds Broncos. NAIT hosted the game, but Olds got the 1-0 series lead.

The game started tightly. About seven minutes into the game, the shots were only 1-1 as both teams were not letting any pucks through. The pace picked up, though, as both teams exchanged power plays, but the goalies stood tall in the first twenty minutes. Shots on goal are 8-7 for NAIT.

0-0 after one.

Similar to the first, both teams came out a little conservative with only one shot through the first six minutes of the second. Finally, though, late in the second, the Broncos scored the first goal of the game from Maddy Black to take the first lead of the game.

1-0 Olds after two.

The game was fast-paced and physical in the third. The goalies stood tall, and the defensives limited the number of chances. With under a minute left, Danielle Corrigan put in the empty netter to put the Broncos up 2-0 and seal the deal.

2-0 Olds final. Olds takes a 1-0 series lead.
