Olds, AB 

The NAIT Ooks won 4-0 over the Olds College Broncos at the Olds Sportsplex on Saturday, March 12, 2022. This was the second game in the playoff series, allowing the NAIT Ooks to tie the Broncos for one game each. 

The first period was full of energy for both teams and saw the Broncos Hailey Hoogkamp going to the box at 12:08, serving a double minor for contact to the head. The Ooks scored on the powerplay at 13:24, scored by Darby Robertson from Brittney Savard and Cass Lyttle. Shots on goal at the end of the period were 10 for the Ooks and 4 for the Broncos. 

NAIT had a really active second period spending ten minutes total in the penalty box throughout the period. The Broncos were unable to use those power play minutes to their advantage though. The Ooks on the other hand went to score two goals late in the second period. The Ooks second goal was scored at 16:53, by Cass Lyttle and was unassisted. Their third goal was scored at 19:05 by Bre Martin from Cass Lyttle and Treasure Posch. Shots at the end of the period were 6-5 with the Ooks edging out the Broncos by one shot. 

The third period is where the Broncos really woke up and were able to keep better control of the puck.  The Broncos' Keera Tiringer went to the box at 8:22 on a slashing call followed by Regan Broadbent at 10:17 for tripping. The Ooks Treasure Posch also went to the box on a tripping call at 13:31 and shortly after at 15:19 Michael  Kibblewhite was sent to the box for a double minor for tripping and unsportsmanlike conduct. Even with these opportunities the Broncos weren't able to get the puck into the net. The Ooks scored their fourth and final goal at 19:54 by Jordan McMillan assisted by Michael Kibblewhite & Hailey Cruickshank. Final shots on goal for the night were 25-18 for the Ooks.  

The player of the game for the NAIT Ooks was number 6, Cass Lyttle and the player of the game for the Olds College Broncos was number 22, Sydney Jack. The Broncos and Ooks meet again on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at NAIT for the third and final game of this series. This game will determine who moves on to take on the RDP Queens in the next round of playoffs.
