Rattlers defeat Rustlers 3-1

The Medicine Hat Rattlers defeated the Lakeland Rustlers 3-1 Sunday afternoon in Lloydminster. 

The game was physical from the start, with both teams being aggressive on both sides of the ball. The physical play gave both teams scoring opportunities, but the Rattlers were the first to capitalize.  Evanne Anderson opened the scoring for the Rattlers in the 15th minute. The Rattlers goal was the only of the half, as Medicine Hat led 1-0 after 45 minutes.

Lakeland had plenty of scoring chances early in the second half, but once again, the Rattlers were the first to score. The goal by Rattlers Shelby Bach in the 56th minute gave them the 2-0 lead. The Rustlers were eventually able to capitalize on their chances, with a goal by Nikki Boutin the the 86th minute. The Rustlers pushed to tied the game in the final minutes, but instead, Aleena Matthews scored for the Rattlers, giving them the 3-1 win.
