The first game of the weekend for the King's Eagles was against the Concordia Thunder. The match started off at a high pace as both teams looked to press and earn an early advantage over the other team. The Thunder were able to score first, as the ball bounced around in the box, #5 Paige Martin, was able to find a little bit of space to slot in the goal. The Thunder came back quickly as #10, Breanna Callander, was able to find the back of the net. The Thunder were able to find the back of the net late into the first half as #10, Breanna Callander, took a shot from outside the 18 yard box, and scored off the post.
In the second half, the Eagles were able to push their way back as they continued to put pressure on the Thunder. The Eagles' pressure finally paid off as they were able to counter the Thunder and have #4 Gabriella Rocque score. The Eagles continued to push on but were unable to find the back of the net again as they fell to the Thunder 3-1.
The Eagles next game will be against the Lakeland Rustlers away from home, September 29, as they look to get back into the win coloumn.
