EDMONTON, AB - The King's University Eagles women took on the visiting NAIT Ooks on Friday to open their ACAC season. Tight defence by both teams ultimately lead to a win for the Ooks 1-0 with a penalty kick by midfield #8 Ahlam Abubaker.

In the first half, both teams seemed evenly matched, neither was able to secure a lead although both had the chances but couldn't stay away from the offside call. 

The second half began like the first, tightly contested back and forth, until late in the 2nd #8 Ahlam AbuBaker was able to put one in the back of the net due to a penalty shot. The Ooks were able to say ahead for the rest of the game.

The season-starting match between the King's Eagles and the NAIT Ooks was a close game, with both sides not able to put more than 1 in the back of the net. It was a well-matched game as the goal didn't come till the 64th minute. Ultimately, the Ooks were able to secure their lead and take home the win, 1-0.
