CALGARY, ALTA., (Oct. 1, 2022) - The SAIT Trojans women's soccer team remain unbeaten.
The Trojans received six goals from six different goal scorers Saturday afternoon, as they blanked the visiting University of Alberta-Augustana Vikings 5-0 in their Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) game played at SAIT's Cohos Commons Field.
SAIT moves to a perfect 6-0 on the season - their last five wins coming by way of shutout. The Vikings fall to 3-3.
Jordynn McPherson, Jade Metz, Harleen Singh all scored in the opening half while Meagan Wiebe, Nikki Charlton and Teghan Mendes netted goals in the second half to help secure the Trojans victory. Charlton added an assist as well.
SAIT keeper Janae Worobets earned the clean sheet.
Abby Gisi was named Player of the Game for Augustana, while Sydni Clement picked up the honour for the home side.
SAIT will return to action Sunday afternoon, when they welcome the Red Deer Polytechnic Queens to campus for a noon kick off. Red Deer is the only team to score on SAIT, as they fell to the Trojans 4-3 on the opening day of the season back on Sept. 10. Since that loss, the Queens have won five straight games and will be looking for some revenge.
