Ambrose Lions pull big upset win over The King's University Eagles
The Ambrose College Lions rallied to defeat the King's University Eagles in five sets, 12-25, 21-25, 25-21, 25-21,15-12 in the fourth game of the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference Women's Volleyball Championship at Lakeland College on Thursday night.
With the win the Lions (1-0) moves onto the winners' bracket for the first time in team history. The Calgary-based club joined the ACAC for the start of the 2014-15 season.
The fourth-ranked Lions will move on to face the Lakeland College Rustlers in the semifinal on Friday night at the Lakeland gym. Game time is set for 8 p.m.
Kemper grabbed player of the game honours for the Lions while Sydney Warchola won the player of the game for the Eagles.
