Lions sweep Kodiaks

The Lions were too much for the Kodiaks this evening winning in three quick sets, 25-20, 25-20, 25-18.

The story of all 3 sets was quite similar.  The Lions put constant pressure on the Kodiaks in the attacking game as well as through some new and improved serves from some of the veteran Lions. Each set the Lions were able to build a lead and hold off and momentum the Kodiaks would achieve through their scrappy defense as well as big attacks of their own particulary by their own veterans (including none other than Laura Serafini).  Tonight however was a re-coming out party for 4th year Julia Kemper. After a year of injuries last year, Kemper showed flashes earlier this season, but nothing like today.  Achieving 8 kills in the first set alone, Lethbridge had no answer for her and thanks in large part to setter Sarah Janz.  Kemper was recognized with the Player the Game award while Libero Andie Curran was awarded the Player of the Game award for the Kodiaks. Tune into acactv to watch these teams in action Saturday night as they play again at 6:00pm in Lethbridge.
