GPRC Host Double Header Against Keyano Huskies

Wolves host the Keyano Huskies for their Home Opener in front of a full house. Lauren Hale-Miller made her debut as head coach for the GPRC Wolves. The Wolves were down early in the first set 8-16 and then had an 11 point run to come close, however Keyano held a strong offense to finish the set 25-23.

The Wolves came out strong in the 2nd set. They forced Keyano to a time out at 14-10. Megan Fowler recorded her 5th kill to put the Wolves up 15-10. The set ended 25-17 for the Wolves.

3rd set was back and forth until Keyano pulled away 22-17. Keyano forced the Wolves to a timeout. Megan Fowler smashed her 11th kill to come within 4 of the Huskies, however the Huskies finished of the 3rd set 25-19.

The Wolves needed a 4th set victory. They fought hard and the points went back and forth. Wolves finished off the set 28-26 to force the game to a 5th and final set.

The 5th set switch was made at 8-6 Wolves. Lana Matthews had a service ace on point 9 to force the Huskies to a timeout. Both teams battled hard until the Wolves ended it 16-14.

Wolves take the game 3-2.

Player of the Game for the Keyano Huskies was #15 Abigail Vandop and for the GPRC Wolves #6 Meagan Warner.

Both teams play each other tomorrow at 1pm at GPRC.
