Eagles sweep weekend over the Rustlers

TKU Eagles take on the Lakeland Rustlers in their home opener tonight. These two faced off last night, in Lloydminister, where the Eagles were able to come out with the win, beating the Rustlers 3-2. The Rustlers are coming in, looking to avenge their loss against the Eagles.

In the first set, the Eagles started off like how they ended in their previous match, as they came out flying getting the first few points. The Rustlers were determined to fight for each point, as they clawed their way back. Nevertheless the Eagles were able to go on a late run as they took the set 25-17.

In the second set, the Eagles got out to a blistering start as they took the first four points of the set. But the Rustlers, like in the previous set were able to claw their way back as they went on a five point run and took the lead. Both teams continued to battle for each point. The Eagles were able to take some crucial points late as they took the set 25-18.

Early in the third set, neither team looked to back down, as these two rivals went back and forth for each point. Until the Eagles were able to gain the upper hand as they slowly built up their lead against the Rustlers. The Rustlers did not quit, as they continued to battle for each point, and continued to close down the Eagles lead to just four points. The Rustlers comeback was just not meant to be as the Eagles lead was just too much to overcome, as the Eagles take the set 25-20, and the match 3-0.

The Eagles finish their weekend with two wins. They look to continue their winning ways versus University of Alberta - Augustana, October 25 & 26.
