Trojans fall in five to Broncos

CALGARY, ALTA., (Oct. 25, 2019) - The SAIT Trojans women's volleyball team went the distance Friday night, but could not pull out the victory.

The Trojans hosted Olds College in Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) action at the Campus Centre, falling 3-2 (25-20, 24-26, 25-21, 20-25, 15-12).

"We have to realize that our good is good enough, and not try to do too much and that's what we did in the fifth set," said Trojans head coach Art O'Dwyer. "We need to grow from this, and know that we are good enough to execute."

SAIT falls to 1-3 on the season. Olds wins in their first time out this year.

"Give Olds credit, they did what they needed to do and brought a loud crowd with them that gave them energy," O'Dwyer added.

Taryn Corkery (1st year, Ponoka, Alta., Bachelor of Business Administration) led the Trojans with 12 kills.

Tabitha Martin led the Broncos with 12 kills of her own.

The teams will wrap their weekend set Saturday night at 6pm in Olds, Alta.
