Grande Prairie Regional College Wolves traveled to Fort McMurray to see if they could improve on a two- match win streak in Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference women's volleyball play while the host Keyano College Huskies will attempt to break a four- match losing skid on their home court at the Syncrude Sport & Wellness Centre

Set 1

Keyano 25 Grande Prairie 18

Shelbey Hearn gets the start for the Huskies and does not disappoint with several blocks and kills. Huskies putting up triple blocks against the Wolves attack. Wolves take timeout down 11-6. They will take their second time out trailing 20-13. Huskies' Abigail Vandop also has a big time block.

Set 2

Keyano 18 Grande Prairie 25

Wolves Megan Fowler steady at the service line as her team down 0-2 brings them back to go up 7-3. Huskies have a few double player blocks. Fowler showing why she is fifth in the ACAC in total kills. Huskies take timeout down 18-23.

Set 3

Keyano 25 Grande Prairie 14

Huskies' Amber Francis rallies her team with her 20th service ace of the season. Grande Prairie down 3-9, Wolves head coach Lauren Hale-Miller, no doubt frustrated as she tosses her clipboard to the floor, calls time out.

 

Set 4

Keyano 20 Grande Prairie 25

Play a bit scrambled to start the set. Huskies go up 13-9 with Wolves taking a timeout to talk things over. Vandop has a BANGO to make it 16-13 for Huskies. Back-to-back kills by Wolves Fowler as Huskies late on the block. Huskies coach Kira Sutcliffe takes a time out the game tied 17-17. Three points later, all in favour of the visitors, Huskies again take to the bench to regroup.

 

Set 5

Huskies  13  Wolves 15

Wolves Fowler and Leah Friesen pounding the ball down. Huskies Hearn quiets things down with the teams switching sides Huskies up 8-7. Hearn with a BANGO 13-11 Huskies.
