Red Deer holds on to win in 4 sets
In their first home game of 2020, the Ambrose Lions took on the visiting RDC Queens. After a close 5 set match the night before, both teams showed up ready to fight for the win. The first set of the game was pretty evenly matched as both teams took turns making huge plays, mixed with unforced errors. RDC took the first set 25-21. The Lions did not let that affect them as they started the second set with an early 7-0 lead. Ambrose continued to increase their lead and, although RDC ended only a few points behind the Lions, the early lead proved too big a gap to overcome. The Lions won the set 25-20. The Queens managed to take momentum back in the third set and won 25-18. This momentum carried into the fourth set as they got their own early lead. RDC remained steady in their execution and controlled the remainder of the game ending the fourth set 25-14 and winning the overall game 3-1. Player of the game was awarded to #7 Alexandria Greenshields of the RDC Queens and #3 Journey Flewell of the Ambrose Lions.
