EDMONTON, Alta. - The NAIT Ooks women's volleyball team defeated the Concordia Thunder 3-2 on Friday night in the NAIT gymnasium, clinching a playoff spot. 

The Ooks jumped out to an early lead in the opening set, taking a commanding 7-1 lead, which saw them holding onto for a 25-20 victory. NAIT carried the momentum into the second set, jumping ahead early. 18-13 for the Ooks and the Thunder found life as they battled back to take the set 25-23, tieing the match at one. Concordia took the third set 25-21, NAIT won the fourth 25-19 forcing a fifth set. In the final set, the Ooks came to play as they took a dominating 15-8 and the match 3-2. 

With the victory, paired with losses from both the GPRC Wolves and Keyano Huskies, the Ooks clinch the fourth and final playoff spot in the ACAC north division. They will now travel to Medicine Hat next weekend to compete in the 2019-2020 ACAC Women's Volleyball Championship.
