Thunder fall in straights to Eagles

Edmonton, AB – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder welcomed The King's University Eagles as they continued their exhibition schedule. The Eagles took control early in the first set, and held on throughout the match, withstanding numerous rallies from the Thunder to take the game 3-0.

The Eagles jumped ahead early in the first set and never looked back as they carried the momentum right through. Although the Thunder tried to tie things up more than once, the Eagles maintained control as they took the first set 25-20. The second set was much the same as the Eagles took control and never relinquished as they take the second set by the same score, 25-20. All that momentum carried into the third set as the Eagles stayed in control en route to a 25-18 win to take the match 3-0.

After the game, Thunder head coach Erinn Jacula was left wanting from her team: "overall, a disappointing game. Although King's played great, our girls weren't able to control first contacts which contributed to the 3-0 loss."

The Thunder continue their exhibition schedule next Friday as they visit the NAIT Ooks.
