Clippers Claim Second Victory at Home Against Trojans

Off the mark Briercrest Clippers lead by three points, but SAIT Trojans fight back to make it a mere one-point difference. Putting up a hard defence, the Trojans fight the Clippers until the very end even as the Clippers take the set with 25-12.

Again, off the mark, the Clippers gain 4-0 in the opening of the second set. Trojans served hard and accurate, but Clippers put on a hard left side offence with fast assisting kills to hammer home the second. The set ends with Clippers taking the 25-10 win.

Comfortable with the last two sets, Clippers let the Trojan's bounce back with a harder offence and great energy this set. The teams trade points and the Clippers fight their impressive come back to chase into an over set. Trojan's hold their offense despite the Clippers good blocking and take the win at 25-27 for the Trojans.

Into a fourth set, the Clippers push back and unify their confidence again to gain a 5 point lead in the opening minutes. Trojan's have amazing blocking and a long volley at 19-15 as they try to close that gap. But the Clippers maintain their impressive lead to take the game at 25-17. The Trojan's never lost their fight or energy even to the end. P

layer of the game was presented by alumni Brooke Harrison. To SAIT, #1 Katelyn Hayley for her 10 digs, 3 kills, 19 assists, and 2 aces. To Briercrest, #8 Jessica Zacharias for her 12 digs, 3 kills, 35 assists, and 8 aces.

Clipper's player of the game had this to say about the game: "We executed our game plan like we wanted to. We expected SAIT to push back more so we let up in the third there, but we got our confidence back and managed to pull it out." When asked about the other team, she had this to say about their game: "They served us well in the third set and their offense did a really good job getting those kills."

The Clippers are back in action thursday as they take on Medicine Hat at home.
