Wolves host The Kings University Eagles for a Friday night game
The GPRC Wolves hosted The Kings University Eagles for a Friday night game. The crowd was entertained with the singing of O'Canada in Cree and English.
The game started close. Both teams exchanged points back and forth for the first 7. Eagles pulled away 11:7. Coach Lauren Hale-Miller called a time out. Eagles score out of the timeout and Wolves regain serve at 9:14. Eagles will jump ahead by 4 and finish of the set 25:20.
2nd set is all Eagles for the first half. They push ahead by 6 and the Wolves couldn't answer back. Coach Lauren Hale-Miller calls a timeout. Out of the time out the Wolves tie the game at 7. The Eagles don't hold back and grab a couple points before the Wolves answer back with a big kill from #13 Alex Pullishy. 12:10 Eagles. Serving #15 Jada Lea for Eagles gets on a roll to serve the Kings to 16. Wolves regain possession and #4 Lana Matthews serves for a few points to bring the Wolves within 3. 15:18. The Wolves couldn't generate the offense and the Eagles went on to win 25:18 and take a 2:0 lead.
To start the 3rd set the Eagles will score. #5 Robyn Alexandruk kills the ball and scores for GPRC. 1:1. Wolves would put up a big block and a kill by #4 Lana Matthews to go up 2 on the Eagles. The Eagles would rebound and come within 1. 8:9 Wolves, not enough, as Coach Grace Scott calls a timeout for the Eagles. Wolves score out of the timeout and would get ahead by 4 before the Eagles would score again. The Eagles would fight back to 14:15 and then tie the game at 17:17, before getting ahead by 1. Coach Lauren Hale-Miller calls a timeout at 20:18 Kings. Kings would go on to win 25:23 and the game 3:0.
