The GPRC Wolves hosted the NAIT Ooks for their first home game of 2022.

The first set the points went back and forth for the first 10. Ooks pulled ahead 15:11 and Coach Lauren Hale-Miller for the Wolves calls a timeout. The Wolves battle back and come within 2, 17:19, before the Ooks head coach calls a timeout. Both teams battle hard until the Ooks come out on top 25:21. Ooks lead 1:0.

Wolves take charge in the 2nd and score the first 2 points. Ooks answer back with 2. Both teams battling hard at the net. The Wolves pull ahead by 3 with some great kills by #4 Lana Matthews. NAIT goes on a 3-0 run before the Wolves gain possession. #13 Alex Pullishy serves for 2 points, NAIT needs a timeout, 13:9 Wolves. Ooks come back strong, with a few good kills, and the score is 17:16 Wolves. Wolves with a couple errors and the game is tied at 18. GPRC #10 Leah Friesen with a kill to tie the game back at 20. Leah to serve. After losing serve, NAIT scores. #4 Lana Matthews has a huge kill to put the Wolves up 24:22. A big block by the Ooks bring the score within 1. #5 Robyn Alexandruk finishes off the set with a kill. Wolves win 25:23. Game tied at 1:1.

Service Ace for the Wolves to start the 3rd set. Followed by a net serve to start the set at 1:1. The entire set was close as both teams battled back and forth. Set would end 25:23 for the Wolves. Wolves go up 2:1.

4th set starts off with a Wolves point. #4 Lana Matthews has a great kill to put the Wolves up by 2. Ooks respond with a block, 4:3 Wolves. Both teams battle hard, back and forth the entire set. The Wolves pulled ahead late in the set. 20:17 before the Ooks responded. #4 Lana Mathews with another big block to put the Wolves up 3. Wolves don't back down and finish the set 25:18. Wolves win 3:1.

Player of the Game for the Nait Ooks was #5 Karly Burkinshaw and for the GPRC Wolves #4 Lana Matthews. Both teams are back in action tomorrow at 3pm. Check out ACAC TV to see the game coverage.
