Clippers Sweep Against Kodiaks On Senior's Night

The first point to Lethbridge Kodiaks to open the game, Briercrest quick to respond with their own.  Briercrest gains a 5 point lead on Kodiaks after three long rallies with both teams coming together with great communication and strong hits. Kodiaks call a TO at 13-6 and jump ahead 4 points off the bench—Briercrest holding a 5 point lead. Kodiaks and Briercrest trade points back and forth until a TO for Kodiaks with the score at 21-15. They battle it out until the end; Briercrest taking the win on the first set at 25-19.  

A long rally to open up the second set—Clippers taking the point. Lethbridge responds with 2 points. Kodiaks and Clippers trade one-for-one until Clippers turn the tide and jump ahead to a  score of 8-4. A tense rally has the audience on the edge of their seats and the Kodiaks take the point for 8-5—then another point for 8-6 as they reach to catch up to 11-10. Strong digs and  Clippers hustle to chase the ball pulled out a phenomenal rally—Clippers taking the point and pulling ahead to 17-11 and a TO for Kodiaks. Kodiaks kill the first point off the bench. Kodiaks battle to catch up, gaining 7 points and blocking Clippers attempt to close the set. Briercrest takes the win of the second set at 25-18.  

Kodiaks take the first point as they open the third set. The two teams trade points until 4-3 and the Clippers take a 5 point lead of 8-3. In that, Kodiaks chased the ball well to try and save a point— pulling together with strong teamwork. Kodiaks fight to catch up, gaining 6 points to set the game at  10-9 and Briercrest calls a TO. Kodiaks win 2 points in a row off the bench with Briercrest retaliating to tie up the score 12-12. Clippers jump ahead with 4 points and Kodiaks call a TO at  16-12. Clippers serve short and Kodiaks take the point off the bench, jumping ahead with 4 points. Kodiaks take a TO with a score of 21-16. Last the ball in the rafters for the last point where Briercrest Clippers take the game at 25-18 in the last set.  

Player of the game was awarded by Max Summach to Lethbridge's Jamie Brown with 9 kills, 8  digs, and 1 block, and to Briercrest's Savanna Boot for her 9 digs and 3 assists. It was also Savanna Boot's last home game with the Briercrest Clippers.
