Ambrose Lions face off against Olds College Broncos in the first round of the ACAC playoffs. 

 
 
 

 Calgary, AB – The Ambrose University Lions hosted the Olds College Broncos on Friday night in the first round of the ACAC Women's Volleyball playoffs. The first set was close, with the Lions narrowly taking it by a score of 26-24. The Lions continued that momentum in a huge second set which they won by 7 points. The Broncos did their best but were unable to stop the offense of the Lions who won the match in 3 straight sets. 

The Broncos' Libero Francesca Sandini (#4) was excellent, with a game-high 11 digs. Sydney Joyce (Olds #12) led the Broncos well with 6 kills, 2 aces, and 1 block. The Setter for the Lions, Lexi Herrod (#8), had another great game, earning 30 assists, 1 ace and 3 digs. Madeline Williscroft was excellent also, earning 14 kills and making 6 digs.  

The player of the game for the Broncos was #12 Sydney Joyce and the player of the game for the Lions was #8 Lexi Herrod.  

The Lions will rest up tomorrow and prepare for their semi-final matchup against the Briercrest Clippers on Sunday afternoon at 1 PM (MST). Whoever wins that match will play in the final four for a chance to win the ACAC South conference and go on to play in the ACAC Championship game.
