NWP Wolves host Concordia Thunder

Wolves serve to start the first set and NWP #01 Sierra LaValley gains the first point. Wolves pull away with a quick 3 point lead score is 4-1. Concordia fights back to tighten the scoring gap but the Wolves stay ahead by 2 as the score reaches 10-8. Thunder return with a 4 point run to tie the game at 13-13. Game stays tight, but Concordia pulls away with a 3 point lead, score 18 -15 as NWP Coach Lauren Hale Miller calls a time out. The Thunder put the pressure on NWP and hang onto a 5 point lead, score 23-19 for Concordia. First set goes to Concordia 25-22.

Concordia start the second set with a serve and get the first point after the Wolves hit the ball out of bounds. A net serve by Concordia puts the Wolves on the score board. #8 Aidan Armitage puts it up for #10 Katie Nashim to put it down. Wolves take the lead 3-1. Concordia answers back and makes the game 3-2. Once again #10 Katie Nashim gets it done and gives the Wolves another point. Wolves lead 6-2. Concordia digs in and tightens the scoring gap to 8-6. Wolves pull ahead for a 5 point lead as Concordia calls a timeout, score 12-7 NWP. The Thunder return strong and gain 3 points. Wolves #03 Gracie Smith delivers a big kill and the team stays ahead, score 18-11 NWP. Wolves #01 Sierra LaValley serves back to back aces which brings the Wolves to a 10 point lead, score 21-11. Concordia's gains momentum and NWP calls a time out, score 21-15 for NWP. NWP #03 Gracie Smith with the perfect placement and gets the set winning point.

The third set is underway and Wolves start with the serve. Concordia are first on the score board. #1 Sierra LaValley put the Wolves on the score board with a perfect block. It's not enough to keep the momentum for the Wolves, Concordia score 3 more back to back points, Thunder lead 4-1. Getting a kill for the Wolves #3 Gracie Smith. Wolves claw back and take the lead 5-4 over Concordia. An excellent rally ends with Concordia grabbing the point and taking back the lead 6-5. #15 Lexis Ouelette gets a kill to tie the set back at 6-6. Thunder run away with the points and lead the set 18-12. Wolves call a time out. Wolves secure 4 back-to-back points after the time out before Concordia takes back over the serve. Concordia still lead 20-18. #13 Alex Pullishy gets another kill for the Wolves and brings the score back within 2. Concordia still lead 22-20. On the block #1 Sierra LaValley secures another point for the Wolves. Putting it down #10 Katie Nashim gets another point for the Wolves. Concordia still lead 24-22. Concordia call time out. Concordia hang onto their lead and take the third set 25-22.

Fourth set begins with Concordia point. #10 Katie Nashim puts the Wolves on the score board. Concordia begins to pull away with the lead, 6-3. Wolves find their momentum and take back the lead 7-6. Ace serve for #3 Gracie Smith makes it 8-6 for your NWP Wolves. Concordia tie the game. Ace serve for #15 Lexis Ouellette. Two back to back tips for #1 Sierra LaValley give the Wolves a 12-10 lead. Concordia tie it up 16-16. Wolves sneak away with the lead 19-16. Once again with the light touch #1 Sierra LaValley makes it 20-17 for the Wolves. Concordia call a time out. Dream team #10 Katie Nashim and #1 Sierra LaValley with the block. #10 Katie Nashim gets the winning set point and Wolves take the match 25- 20.

Concordia wins the coin flip and starts the fifth match with the serve. #5 Sydney Horyn opens the scoring for Concordia. NWP # 01 Sierra LaValley gets a kill for the first Wolves point, score 3-1 for Concordia. An ace for NWP #10 Katie Nashim brings the score to 6-4, as the Wolves still trail the Thunder. Concordia makes it a 3 point lead from a big kill by #6 Jolene Cooke. NWP's Sierra LaValley tightens the gap with a block, score 8-7 Concordia. Time out is called by NWP's Lauren Hale Miller with the score of 10-7 for Concordia. #1 Sierra LaValley with another block. Wolves take back over the serve. Concordia still lead by 2 points. #13 Alex Pullishy with a beautiful kill brings Wolves within 1 point of Concordia. Points go back and fourth but Concordia maintains their lead 13-11. Wolves call a time out. #10 Katie Nashim with the Wolves kill after the time out. #1 Sierra LaValley takes the serve and Concordia hits it into the net. Wolves tie it up 13-13. #1 Sierra LaValley with the ace serve makes it 14-13 for your NWP Wolves. Concordia call a time out. Miscommunication by the Wolves leads to Concordia tying the game at 14-14. Wolves smash the ball and get another point 15-14. Concordia call another time out. A net serve ties the game back up at 15-15. An ace serve by Concordia's #3 Valeria Trujillo gives Concordia the lead 16-15. Wolves answer back and tie it 16-16. Concordia takes the set 18-16 and wins the match 3-2.
