Vikings give up minimal points in win over Ooks

CAMROSE, AB - Giving up just 42 points in three sets, the University of Alberta - Augustana Vikings dominate the NAIT Ooks 3-0 (25-14, 25-12, 25-16), Saturday night at Augustana Gym.

With the win, the Vikings claim an important two points to stay in third place in the north divisions, in what is a tight race with just single wins makings the difference. However, the Ooks will continue looking for their first win of the season, going 0-6.

The home side took no time, jumping out to a quick lead and not looking back, claiming a quick first set, 25-14.

The story would remain the same in the second frame, as the Vikings gave even less room for the Ooks to breathe, going up 2-0.

Continuing their trend, the Vikings moved towards a quick set win, ultimately taking the game 3-0 in just over an hour.

Looking ahead, the Vikings will hit the road to take on the reigning ACAC Champions, the Red Deer Poyltechiin Queens Friday night in Red Deer for a single-game weekend. Meanwhile, the Ooks will head south to challenge the Ambrose University Lions on Friday and carrying on to the Lethbridge College Kodiaks on Saturday evening.
