WVB| Kodiaks Close Out 2022 With 3 Set Sweep Over Briercrest and Take the Weekend Series 2-0
The Kodiaks looked to have a repeat of yesterday's match and take the weekend sweep against the Briercrest Clippers.
Briercrest got an early jump on the Kodiaks picking up points to put some room between them and the Kodiaks hoping that would be enough to keep the Clippers in front throughout the set. The Kodiaks had other plans and turned on the boosters and bolted right by the Clippers to take a strong lead that would keep them ahead, taking the 1st set by storm 25-21 with the help of Kodiaks #5 Mack Lewicki snagging 4 kills to maintain their momentum.
The Kodiaks continued to put the pressure on the Clippers after starting the set a little slow, but Kodiaks #3 Jamie Brown and #5 Mack Lewicki were sure to set the tone for the remainder of the set combining for 7 kills to put the Kodiaks back in front as the Clippers began to struggle defensively allowing the Kodiaks to run up the scoreboard. The score stayed tight right until the end of the set with the Kodiaks prevailing and staying ahead stealing the 2nd set 25-21.
The Kodiaks remained strong offensively maintaining their edge on the Clippers as Briercrest looked for a way to get in front and take control of the set but were unable to keep up with the powerhouse that is Kodiaks Jamie Brown as she grabbed an additional 4 kills throughout the set to keep the Kodiaks in front to take the 3rd set and the match sweep with a score of 25-21 to close out 2022 with a win for the Kodiaks.
