WVB| Kodiaks Take Down Medicine Hat Rattlers in Highway 3 Rivalry in Final Home Game of the Season

February 3, 2023 – The Kodiaks closed out their last home game of the regular season against their highway 3 rivalry, the Medicine Hat Rattlers with both teams' goal being to leave the Val Matteotti with a victory.

The Kodiaks had a bumpy start to the match with some difficulties making solid contact with the ball, however, the Kodiaks were able to stay ahead of the Rattlers as they knocked off any rust they may have had. The Rattlers kept the gap tight with the Kodiaks trying to inch ahead in the later stage of the 1^st set but after multiple intense rallies, Lethbridge was able to maintain their lead and take the 1^st set 25-20.

Throughout the 2^nd set, The Rattlers looked to bounce back after dropping the 1^st set, Medicine Hat was able to stay neck and neck with the Kodiaks despite still being behind but kept pushing. Jamie Brown and Aideena Wickstrom of the Kodiaks each picked up 3 kills in the set to help push the Kodiaks past the finish line to go up 2 sets to 0 taking the 2^nd set 25-19.

With the Kodiaks looking to get the 3-set sweep, they turned the burners on. They did not let off until the set was over as the Kodiaks built themselves a demanding lead right from the start with Kodiaks Jamie Brown putting up 5 kills in the set and 9 on the night to secure the victory in the final home game of the regular season taking the 3^rd set 25-17 and the match 3-0.
