Eagles soar to four-set victory in Olds

With a bye to the ACAC Women's Volleyball Championship already secured, The King's University Eagles took care of business, defeating the Olds College Broncos in four sets (25-21, 25-13, 18-25, 25-20) at the Ralph Klein Centre on Friday.

The CCAA's fifth-ranked team got solid performances throughout their lineup, with Sam Lieuwen leading the Eagles (16-2) with nine points (seven kills, ace, block) and Player of the Game Jillian Bieraugle adding six points of her own (five kills, one ace). Defensively, Lauryn Draker was all over the court, registering a game-high 19 digs for The King's University.

For the Broncos (0-18), fifth-year Tabitha Martin led all scorers with 16 points (11 kills, three aces, two blocks) and eight digs in her final match on home court, while Milan Schapowal added nine points of her own off six kills and three aces. 

Both teams will wrap up their regular seasons tomorrow at 6 p.m., with the Eagles returning home to face the SAIT Trojans and the Broncos travelling to Edmonton to square off with the Concordia University of Edmonton Thunder.
