Despite a push led by setter Phaedra Bruens, who sparked a brief rally to close the gap to 13-10, Briercrest maintained control and secured the opening set 25-15.
The second set tightened considerably, with Bruens distributing the offence effectively to her hitters. The Vikings leaned on Ella Jarrett, who delivered crucial kills to help Augustana take a 17-14 lead.
Briercrest responded behind the all-conference presence of Alivia Fraser, whose strong two-way play fueled a late comeback to edge within one at 19-18. However, Augustana held steady down the stretch to take the set 25-23 and even the match.
The third set proved to be the turning point battle. Taryn Watson made high-IQ plays to help the Vikings secure an early 7-5 edge. The teams traded points throughout, knotting the score at 11-11 and again in the red zone.

Facing elimination, Augustana responded with urgency. Watson's service pressure helped the Vikings to a 5-1 start. Briercrest's back-row defence, anchored by libero Brynn Hardy, kept rallies alive, but the Vikings found another gear.
