This past weekend, the Northwestern Polytechnic Wolves hosted the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference Running Room (ACAC) Grand Prix #3 at Muskoseepi Park in Grande Prairie, AB. Runners were delighted to find tepid temperatures for Late September in Northern Alberta.

The event featured 92 runners running a moderately flat 2-kilometre loop with a few hills thrown in for good measure. Teams in attendance included Northwestern Polytechnic Wolves, SAIT Trojans, Red Deer Polytechnic Kings and Queens, St. Mary's University Lightning, The University of Alberta-Augustana Vikings, NAIT Ooks, Concordia Thunder, Prairie College Pilots, and The King's University Eagles.

Top three women's finishers:

  1. Julianna Chipiuk (RDP) – 21:38
  2. Ashlee Walker (CUE) – 21:51
  3. Georgia Sawchuk (RDP) – 23:04

Women's Team Event:

  1. RDP Queens 
  2. NAIT Ooks 
  3. King's Eagles

Top three men's finishes

  1. Japhet Kipkosgei (RDP) - 24:38
  2. Andrew Leffers (RDP) - 25:59
  3. Reggie Williams (UAA) - 26:02

Congratulations to all athletes and teams on impressive performances this past weekend. The next ACAC Running Room Grand Prix will take place this Saturday, October 4th, in Camrose, hosted by the University of Alberta-Augustana Vikings.
