Trojans lasso Broncos, advance in ACAC post-season

CALGARY, ALTA., (March 3, 2022) - The SAIT Trojans women's basketball team is moving on.

The third-seeded Trojans dominated the final 30 minutes of play, as they beat the sixth-ranked Olds College Broncos 74-39 in their Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) post-season matchup played Thursday night at SAIT's Campus Centre.

SAIT, who finished the regular season 9-7, will now advance to take on the second place Lethbridge College Kodiaks on Saturday in Lethbridge.

After a slow start to Thursday night's game, SAIT outscored the Broncos 23-4 in the second quarter to take control of the contest going into half. Leading the charge was Kaleigh Sellars, who hit a trio of three-pointers in the second quarter en route to an 18-point night and Player of the Game honours.

Alli Taylor led the Broncos with 9 points, while teammate Naomi Rowe added 7 to be named her team's Player of the Game.
